With the release of Twin Shadows, I thought it fitting to have a picture fest tribute to the coolest looking guy in the movies.
It really is too bad he didn’t kick any ass on screen and died like a b@#%!. Oh well, let’s get to the pictures.

The thing X-Wing lacked from day one was a good campaign system. Months ago I decided to make my own campaign in the form of a small pdf document. I created a chat with some local players to have them read it over as I wanted feedback before I threw it up on db416.
During that chat Josh Derksen (Armorgear7) had some great ideas, and he had a unique slant on how a campaign system should work with the core mechanic being an A.I. Overlord, whereas I was looking at a more conventional human GM. Continue reading New Co-Op X-Wing Campaign
Last week brought something exciting to the tables of Xwing players. The Raider found it’s way to the shores after being on the boat for all too long. The release quickly brought the Tie Advance back to the table in a big way, giving it many options and builds that the poor ships sorely lacked. I played a tournament this past weekend and a good two thirds of the lists had the Lord of the Sith himself, Vader or some other Advances on the board. The Raider pack brought another amazing piece to the hands of Imperial players, The Emperor.

With wave 7 and the September 4th release fast approaching, and wave 8 recently announced, the Raider dropping into stores is one of many things being talked about heavily by the X-wing community as of now, and yesterday at Black Knight I took a few of the new cards for a spin. My list was as follows:
Every Star Wars fan knows Ackbar’s famous exclamation, “Our cruisers can’t repel firepower of that magnitude!” Well guess what, Motti can – and he’ll do it all by himself.
In Star Wars Armada, Admiral Motti must have the strangest game effect to date as he boosts the hull value of all ships in his force. What’s so strange about that you ask? Well, when Motti’s ship is destroyed his card is flipped over and his commander effect no longer applies. That means if there were Imperial ships down to the one or two extra hull that Motti gave them, they would immediately blow up as those “magical Motti” hull points disappear. In essence, all ships have extra health only while he lives.
How can we explain this? Well, I think I have an answer. Continue reading The Great Admiral Motti in Star Wars: Armada
There have been a few videos posted this week that any Star Wars gamer should check out.
Did you know that Mark Hamill likes to have fun when signing autographs? It’s good to see that Luke Skywalker has a big sense of humor when it comes to his fans!

Thanks to many online resources (Dice Tower, Team Covenant, FFG Forums, google image search) those of us not able attend could still get pretty close to feeling like we were part of Gencon from the comfort of our computers, hand held devices and mobile phones.
I’ve decided to do a roundup of the Imperial Assault, Armada and X-Wing news I came across for Gencon 2015.
Imperial Assault had arguably the most exciting news of the bunch!

Very little went on with Armada outside of the tourney, and no new spoilers were revealed.
