CYBERPUNK JEDI AND A RENEGADE PRINCESS

Here is some epic art. Star Wars meets Blade Runner? Yes please. Looking for some new desktop wallpaper? Well look no further.

Artist Jeronimo Gomez created a “A Dark Jedi and a Renegade Princess” depicting Luke Skywalker with Leia, C-3P0, R2-D2 all set in a cyberpunk Blade Runner alternate universe.

This was part of a challenge on CG Plus to re-imagine Star Wars, and let me tell you, some awesome art came out of it. Check out the talent below!

This is what Jeronimo had to say about “A Dark Jedi :” Continue reading CYBERPUNK JEDI AND A RENEGADE PRINCESS

The Emperor is Darth Vader’s Father, According to Lucas

Oh boy, where to begin.

It has come to light that George Lucas, in his original script for Episode III, had another  “I am your father scene.” This time it was the Emperor telling Anakin that he’s his dad.

Here is what Palpatine said in the original script,

“I have waited all these years for you to fulfill your destiny. I arranged for your conception. I used the power of the Force to will the midichlorians to start cell divisions that created you.” Continue reading The Emperor is Darth Vader’s Father, According to Lucas

Regional Recap: Galaxy Note 7 Recalled

Buckle up, as you will see I am a long-winded old geezer and I’ve got a lot to say.

I’ll admit, even though by all accounts I’m a seasoned player, I’ve been around the competitive X-wing scene for the most part without spectacular results. Sure I can usually hold my own, but I tend toward risky play, which usually edges me out of the upper echelons.

I’m not the most intelligent person, but gaming in general tends to draw out smart people who enjoy using their big brains. I have to work at playing well to compete.

Last month in Toronto, we had our 2016/17 Regional for the truncated season. 99 players showed, and I placed much higher than I was expecting. Spoiler alert, I didn’t win the Regional, but I did have an opportunity to and that’s not too shabby in my book. Continue reading Regional Recap: Galaxy Note 7 Recalled

Cool Acrylic Tokens for Heroes of the Aturi Cluster

Since launching the Heroes of the Aturi Cluster co-op campaign back in fall 2015, I’ve seen a lot of custom components for it pop up around the internet.

Heroes Fan Ben Adams recently offered to send me some really nice ones he’s been making, over on his Etsy shop Highbridge Design and of course I said yes.

I’ve got to say, I’m blown away by how nice these are. Here’s some pics of what he sent me:

Acrylic tokens for Heroes of the Aturi ClusterFirst off, seeing the message on that custom laser-etched template tray made me laugh, and I really appreciate it. It’s stury, magnetized, and happens to be the same dimensions as my other X-wing cases. Continue reading Cool Acrylic Tokens for Heroes of the Aturi Cluster

Painting Blue One (c. Battle of Scarif/Yavin – with some of Red Squadron)

Ok, so… these repaints of the FFG X-Wing minis started as a “hey wouldn’t it be fun if…” sort of thing. I picked up a starter set and set to work on repainting the T-65 X-Wing that came with the set. After that – and leading up to the release of Rogue One – I went down the rabbit hole of hunting for LFL archive images, RPF articles, and the like for any and every reference of the hero models I could find of the original Red Squadron X-Wings from A New Hope.

From there, I discovered that not every fighter in Red Squadron had been created – as a matter of fact, for most of the shots in A New Hope, many of the X-Wings are duplicate shots of Reds 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 (poor Porkins…).  With the notable exception of Red 12 – which gave some insight on how to handle the wing markings past Red 6.
