I stumbled upon some inspiring Star Wars dioramas made with toys. Being more of a “painted miniatures guy,” I have never been into collecting toys as an adult. However, I was struck at how beautiful Stephen’s dioramas were. It really goes to show that talent, when applied, will surpass any medium. Continue reading Stephen Hayford’s Dioramas
I hope you are enjoying your Monday.

On Tested there are a lot of great Star Wars geek videos, like how to build a lightsaber or a replica of Han Solo’s blaster.
I was completely blown away by Adam Savage’s Chewbacca costume and working C-P30 backpack. It’s simply amazing. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look.
Here are some Star Wars videos I think any fan of the franchise should see. Continue reading From the Serial to the Formula in Star Wars
X-Wing has evolved and grown over the years. New mechanics, new cards, new maneuvers, and new ships keep pushing the limits of what can be done on the tabletop. As a game, it’s one of the best in a generation and it’s popularity stands as testament to this.
Yet sometimes a Star Wars fan who grew up on the Original Trilogy just wants to play with the iconic ships of the franchise. So we decided to throw a little old school X-Wing party here at DockingBay416.
We’re going to have a tournament with new rules and old ships and we’re calling it OT Play, or Original Trilogy Play.
Here are the rules: Continue reading Introducing the OT X-Wing Format
Here is some epic art. Star Wars meets Blade Runner? Yes please. Looking for some new desktop wallpaper? Well look no further.
Artist Jeronimo Gomez created a “A Dark Jedi and a Renegade Princess” depicting Luke Skywalker with Leia, C-3P0, R2-D2 all set in a cyberpunk Blade Runner alternate universe.
This was part of a challenge on CG Plus to re-imagine Star Wars, and let me tell you, some awesome art came out of it. Check out the talent below!
This is what Jeronimo had to say about “A Dark Jedi :” Continue reading CYBERPUNK JEDI AND A RENEGADE PRINCESS
Oh boy, where to begin.
It has come to light that George Lucas, in his original script for Episode III, had another “I am your father scene.” This time it was the Emperor telling Anakin that he’s his dad.
Here is what Palpatine said in the original script,
“I have waited all these years for you to fulfill your destiny. I arranged for your conception. I used the power of the Force to will the midichlorians to start cell divisions that created you.” Continue reading The Emperor is Darth Vader’s Father, According to Lucas
There might be less Rebel miniatures than Imperial ones in your box of Star Wars: Rebellion, but if you want to do a good job painting them, you’ll probably invest more hours on the good guys. The reason being is the Rebels aren’t as uniform as the Imperials (Imps are mostly boring grey). The Rebels have more variation in their colour scheme, and if you want to be thematic, then the Rebels have to look a little beat up too. Damage, grime, wear and tear are the hallmarks for Rebel stuff.
The original trilogy had George Lucas’ innovative vision of “used technology.” Let’s not forget that no one had ever done that before in a sci-fi setting. The Rebels are kings of “used tech” and why I think they look the coolest but also take longer to paint. Continue reading Star Wars Rebellion: Painting the Rebels
It seems that George Lucas had some ideas for episodes 7-9 and the video below discusses them.
I was not a fan of Episode 7. Rogue One I found more enjoyable to watch, but it was more of a modern action movie than a Star Wars story. Continue reading What Happened In George Lucas’ STAR WARS EPISODE VII
I came across this video and was skeptical. It would be very hard to pull off a good rap battle between these two.
I have to say, this was simply AMAZING! So well done! Lots of humour, good choice of language and references, with lots of wit. A pleasure to watch and laugh along with. Hope you enjoy it too!
