We arrive at the final match this special – format tournament, and this one comes right down to the wire! As if invoking the spirit of the films, Darth Vader himself makes an appearance in his signature Tie Advanced fighter craft.
See you all on our channel on September 22nd-24th as we livestream Canadian Nationals!
Special Rules: Players build two lists, one Imperial and one Rebel. Only ships that appeared in the original three movies (not special edition) can be used. All pilots and upgrades are free to use, however TLT is banned. Every match will be played Imperials vs Rebels… The player with the most plays of one faction will play the opposite faction. If players are tied for factional plays the Rebel player will be determined by die roll. Every match is classic ships, Rebellion against the Empire. Sounds pretty cool, right? A return to Star Wars?

One Sunday afternoon in April some of Toronto’s top players arrived at 401 Games to indulge in a meta-skewing Original Trilogy format for X-Wing, with a tourney kit on the line. For many of us vets this was a return to how it all began.
X-Wing has evolved and grown over the years. New mechanics, new cards, new maneuvers, and new ships keep pushing the limits of what can be done on the tabletop. As a game, it’s one of the best in a generation and it’s popularity stands as testament to this.
Yet sometimes a Star Wars fan who grew up on the Original Trilogy just wants to play with the iconic ships of the franchise. So we decided to throw a little old school X-Wing party here at DockingBay416.
We’re going to have a tournament with new rules and old ships and we’re calling it OT Play, or Original Trilogy Play.
